100 km Covid Challenge by vzw 100 km Dodentocht
Dear 100Km Dodentocht lover
Without any doubt, you were already preparing yourself sportively, or mentally, to participate in the 100Km Dodentocht. You were probably looking forward to the second weekend of August to start the 100Km Dodentocht. But the coronavirus put an end to that.
By cancelling the 100km Dodentocht, you also lost a sporting challenge. But we have good news: from June 1st 2020, you can register for the 100Km Covid Challenge powered by Dodentocht.
100Km Covid Challenge powered by Dodentocht ?
As organization, we offer a virtual alternative for our 51st cancelled edition, the 100Km Covid Challenge powered by Dodentocht. For this symbolic edition we exceptionally change our legendary rules.
This challenge runs from Monday July 13, 2020 to Sunday, August 9, 2020. So you have four weeks to cover the total distance of 100 kilometers. It is certainly not the intention that you walk or run 100 kilometers in one go. You can spread this distance over several days, at your own pace and where and when you want. The only goal is to reach 100 kilometers (or more) at the end of those four weeks.
With this edition we want to motivate people and let them taste one of the best relaxing sports there is, namely walking and in particular with the connection of the large 100Km Dodentocht family.
We also want to dedicate this edition to all the people who continued to take care of our society during this crisis.
That is why 100Km Dodentocht vzw donates the profit of the 100Km Covid Challenge to the universities of Ghent and Leuven to support the research for a vaccine and for preventive measures.
